What we do not advertise
We cannot accept adverts that are Pornography and pornographic related merchandising are prohibited under all the Company's services. This includes sites that include links to pornographic content elsewhere. Further examples of unacceptable content or links include pirated software, "hacker" programs, archives of "Warez Sites", game rooms or MUDs, Chat Rooms, IRC Bots, Egg Drop programs, programs designed to send unsolicited advertisements (i.e. "spamware"), any kind of illegal software or shareware.

What to do once you have paid for your advertisement

A purchase order number, a contact name and invoicing address must be supplied for your order to be processed. Refunds will not be made once banner has been mounted.
Reciprocal 'deals' and other marketing arrangements are always considered, so feel free to contact us with your ideas.
Making Changes to your Banner
One change of URL and one change of banner will be permitted at no additional charge in any 6 month period. Additional changes will be charged at £30 plus VAT per change e.g. changing both banner and URL for a second time within a 6 month period will incur a £60 (plus VAT) charge. Please allow 5 working days between our receiving (emailed) notification and changes to take effect.
Delivery of Advert Banners
A limit of 10 banners on the homepage at any one time has been set. Banners are then served in random rotation with every request to the journal homepage, thus guaranteeing each banner a minimum 10% `impression rate' of the total number made on the homepage over a given period. The banners we currently serve receive around 3000 impressions in any 3 month period. This method does not measure the effectiveness of your advert, but it does provide a measure of how many visitors were exposed to it. Monitoring your own web site stats (e.g. counting / analysing the referrals our site makes to yours) would give you even more information.
We can not guarantee 100% up time from our hosting servers over a period of 12 months even though 01327 uses the latest backup technology, other factors can increase our server downtime such as backing up - server side upgrades, changes to server software and other technical reasons, these downtime periods are minimal, and rear but do happen. Our uptime percentages are above 95% over a 12 month period.
Making an Effective Banner
- There are a few qualities that generally make for more effective banner ads. If you are mounting a banner ad campaign in 01327 you should keep the following in mind: Advertise a particular product or service in your banner, rather than your site generally. If you do advertise a particular product or service, ensure you link the banner ad to that part of your Web site, rather than your home page.
- Use simple messages rather than complicated ones.
- Use animated ads rather than static ones.
- Your graphic content should provoke visitor curiosity, without being too obscure.
- Make your banner visually appealing with interesting content
